I bought it! I’m so excited for my first flight…. I’ve been dreaming up ways to do this for ages!

I just got an email from Mitt that reads:

“We just can’t afford four more years like the last four years.”

You know what, he is right. And do you know how I know that neither of you are REALLY that concerned about the economy, the pocketbook and balances of the poor?

Because of the countless emails begging me, and the rest of us for money.

I am a broke single mother. I cannot afford to give either of you MILLIONAIRES A DIME.

But I’m willing to accept donations to my 2056 presidential campaign whenever you’re ready.

NIMBY – Whatcom County Widespread Problem

NIMBY. Whatcom County really has to get over its “Not In My Back Yard” opinion of itself. We want jobs, we want growth, we want a good economy; however, we seem incredibly unable to pay the reasonable price for these things. Airports are going to grow. It grew faster than you expected? Well, you still expected it so if you bought a house nearby you didn’t do your research well. Canadians come down and use our roads and buy our stuff? They’re still putting money into the economy. Dislike Canadians buying milk at outrageous rates at Costco? So what – they are supporting our local dairy farms. I’m sorry, but if we want to grow as a community we have to learn to adapt to changes and help it grow productively. We don’t want criminals, but we refuse to build jails anywhere in the county because it’s in somebody’s backyard. We want business to stay in town, but we charge them excessive taxes to do so. Sadly, the people with the loudest whiny voices are the only opinions that get heard. What about the countless citizens who live in the flight path that say nothing about the noise because it doesn’t bother them? I loved the noise when I lived in Ferndale. I love the noise even still when I stay in Ferndale every week. I love the noise even more when I’m the one flying out over Bellingham Bay. Face it Whatcom County. It’s going to be in somebody’s backyard, and that may just be you.

Education Without Debt

That’s my new goal. As a single mother living in fancy rich Bellevue while making not nearly enough to shop anywhere but Target or Walmart I can’t afford a higher education. I can’t afford it financially, or with my time. Online classes are great, but every teacher has different test rules and they always seem to clash with my work schedule.

I’ve gotten emails from teachers about how brilliant I am, or that I MUST promise them I’m going to attend graduate school, even though I earned a meager D or C in their class. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t earn just Cs and Ds; however my last quarter was AWFUL. Turns out, I can’t work full time… do school full time… be a single mother with ZERO paternal support and a whole lot of paternal drama… date…. and drive 600 miles a week and maintain my grades and sanity.

As a person who leans a little more conservative, I’ve decided that once I pay off my current small student loan, that I’d rather attend class solely on grants/scholarships and my own funding then deal with loans. If I can only afford one class at a time then that it how I will go. This economy is proving more and more to me that I do not want to end up with a massive debt when I’m just getting started in a new profession.

I wonder if an honest cardboard sign would drudge up enough funds to start with one class this winter….

The President’s speech required us to imagine what America COULD be like. And, as a relatively conservative person it pains me a great deal to agree with him; luckly, it only happens on occasion. Throughout this post I’ll be directly quoting the President and stating my own response to his words. Imagine what we could accomplish if we followed their example. Think about the America within our reach: A country that leads the world in educating its people. An America that attracts a new generation of high-tech manufacturing and high-paying jobs. A future where we’re in control of our own energy, and our security and prosperity aren’t so tied to unstable parts of the world. An economy built to last, where hard work pays off, and responsibility is rewarded.

I must admit, this is the America we should all be striving for, and hoping to achieve. It will not be an easy job, however. In order to have high-paying jobs, we must continue to allow high-paying companies to exist without being over-taxed. He goes on to state that it is something that we can reach because:

we’ve done it before. At the end of World War II, when another generation of heroes returned home from combat, they built the strongest economy and middle class the world has ever known.

In an era where we had pride in our country and a strong sense of working together. When people had cars and they treasured them and and took care of their homes. America is very lazy now and has become very much a country that is lacking in any pride in ownership — unless its the fact that they own the very newest “i” product from Apple. Very few people seek to work for what they want, but rather feel that they are entitled to just get it. You can see this lack in pride of ownership as you drive down any highway and so many of the car are dirty, broken down, etc. I know so many people have have never even waxed their cars. Honestly, my Explorer CAN look really good, but I lack the proper pride in ownership as well. I’m too broke to provide the care that she really needs — but she does get a good waxing and hand washing pretty regularly.

We can either settle for a country where a shrinking number of people do really well, while a growing number of Americans barely get by. Or we can restore an economy where everyone gets a fair shot, everyone does their fair share, and everyone plays by the same set of rules.

It is true, there is a shrinking number of people doing really well. This is not anybody’s fault but their own.

Why My Boobs Are Just As Good As Kate Middletons

Yes. I believe this to be completely true. My breasts, which adorn my overweight, short, stalky frame, are just as good as that of the underweight and Katie Holmes-level beauty Kate Middleton.

Hear me out on this.

Kate Middleton. Gorgeous. Thin. Slight curves in all the right places. Her breasts are well covered. A sight never to be seen, but rather just imagined like the holy grail. The untouchable mounds of flesh rank in desire right next to the holy grail.

Me. A slightly above common pretty, with the standard “left one is way bigger than the right” declaring to the world that I am not a South Paw. Really, there is not anything special about them, except that they have tattoos, so a bit more of them are seen.

However….

Kate Middletons boobs live on the other side of the planet and are guarded by whatever you call the
British Guards. Mine live right here in the US. Kates boobs will never be touched by the likeness of a common man.

Mine are everyday.

I’m willing to bet you’ll never see a bored Kate prodding her boobs just to fascinate over that amazing jiggle they have.

I do deeply enjoy watching them jiggle.

While her overall presentation may look better, a boob in the hand is worth two in the UK anyday. Which makes my “possibly obtainable” (though don’t kid yourself) breasts on par with the overall amazing view Kate has recently presented us with.

Now that I’ve proven my ability to create my own creative sound logic, who wants to hire me as their paralegal?

One of the most asked questions regarding my tattoos and piercings (aside from “Did it hurt?” Which, by the way, Yes. Yes it did.) is why on earth I would do something like this to my body.

Today a friend of mine, who is actually my piercing artist, posted a picture. It is an awesome picture if you’re able to step back and really take it in. In the low-quality photo lies brilliance. Can you see it?

I realize that there are so many people who look at this and shudder, vomit silently, turn away quickly (okay, Dana I’ll stop ) without even taking the chance to see the handsome man right there. Those same people would stop to mention how great he would look without his modifications. No doubt about it, Dana is quite attractive.

Admittedly, its 2am right now and I suspect this blog to go through some editing tomorrow to fix it up and make my point a little clearer, but the main reason I wrote this blog is that I want to point out how much effort it takes to hold onto what you’ve been taught.

For me tattoos are not simply a pretty picture on my skin. Its a part of who I am, what I represent, and what I need you to see past in order to see the real me. I was taught that tattoos and even ear piercings are bad, something to be shameful of – and I was taught to judge others around me for their actions. Then I had a breakthrough. As a compassionate and loving human being I was having to defy the way that God built me in order to conform to society. I was wrong. And so are you.

But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for God sees not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”

- 1 Samuel 16:7

Are you willing to look past what you’ve been indoctrinated with in order to see the world through your own eyes?

It may take time, effort and practice to remember that we’re still people – - but I promise you, the worlds it will open for you are worth it.

If you don’t enjoy a heavily modified look, take a look again at the photo above. If you’re focusing solely on the parts you were taught to not like, you’re missing the parts that you do like. You have to willingly hold your focus on the wrong thing.

The same can be said of life. If you spend all of your time worrying about everything that’s going wrong, you’ll have no time at all to enjoy the beauty of all that is right in your world. And I promise you, no matter how bad your life seems at the second, there is ALWAYS something positive to see.
